Complex carbs are high in natural sugar which helps to balance the insulin level thus curbing the cravings and elevating one\u2019s mood.<\/p>\n<p>Fruits, whole grains, beans, and barley are foods rich in complex carbs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cut back on salt.<\/strong> Salt being high in sodium can cause fluid retention. Thus, causing swollen hands and feet, or tender breasts. Reducing the amount of salt intake can help with these symptoms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get a healthy dose of iron.<\/strong> Women lose a fair amount of iron while menstruating, so eating iron-rich foods before and during periods helps a lot.<\/p>\n<p>Lean meats are good sources of iron. Yoga helps <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/balance\/stress-management\/stress-management-relieving-stress\">reduce stress<\/a>, and certain yoga poses &#8212; \u201ccobra,\u201d \u201ccat,\u201d and \u201cfish\u201d \u2013 helps to ease painful cramping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exercise tips for women dealing with PMS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t overdo it.<\/strong> During periods muscles may move differently, making a woman more prone to injuries. So light strengthening and balancing exercises are good. Talk to your doctor before you start any new exercise routine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make exercise a regular part of your life.<\/strong> Don\u2019t just save workouts for the days you have the worst PMS symptoms.
