Cutting phase which I like to refer as Captain America phase is the phase in which one is in the process of shedding fat in order to get a more lean and clean look. As the diets differ when you need to bulk or when you need to cut. Same way the supplement stacks also change of a bodybuilder.
In bulking phase since one needs to grow muscles one will consume supplements which help in maximum muscle pump and increase in muscle size. Under cutting phase one consumes supplements which help to shed maximum fat and water weight.
So following are the supplements which usually are included in the stack during cutting phase :
- Isolate whey ( essential ) – Whey isolate is a more refined better form of whey protein. A “whey concentrate” is 80% protein and an “whey isolate” is 90% protein.
- BCAA ( essential ) – The BCAAs are made up of three essential amino namely leucine, isoleucine, and valine. They are essential because the body is unable to make them out of other amino acids, meaning they must be ingested through food or supplements and that makes them an essential supplement in every bodybuilder’s stack. Nowadays brands have come up with bcaa mixed with fat loss ingredients which are best for cutting.
- Fat burner ( essential ) – Fat burners are also called thermogenic. Thermogenic supplements seem to help you burn stored body fat by using the body’s fat reserves as a source of energy.
- Multi vitamin ( optional ) – Multivitamin/mineral (MVM) supplements contain a combination of vitamins and minerals, and sometimes other ingredients as well. During the cutting phase body is on a calorie deficit so it can’t get everything from food. So from my personal opinion multi vitamin supplement during cutting phase is a must.
- Pre workout ( optional ) – Pre workout supplements are specially designed supplements that are taken before exercise in order to improve :
- Energy Levels
- Endurance
- Strength
- Recovery
Supplements are no magic pill. You take them or not to get results in gym you will have to work hard, be dedicated and be motivated.
